5. Ensuring delivery of commodities in correct quantities (weight, measure or number)
II. To ensure uniformity in weights and measures across the state to maintain consistency in measurement and prevent disputes.
III. To set up modern laboratories to calibrate weighing and measuring instruments used in

2 Hospitals (Personweighing scale, Thermometer, Sphygmomanometer)
3 Speed radar (to measure speed of automobiles)
4 Acoustic measurements (Decibel meter)
5 Measuring intensity of light (Photometer)
6 Measuring transparency of films and sheets(Clarity meter)
7 Measuring data speed in communication networks
IV. To frame new rules to capacitate the department to meet new challenges.
