CALIBRATION OF VEHICLE TANKS

Vehicle Tank is a capacity measure as defined under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and the rules made there under. They are used for measurement and delivery of Petroleum products and other liquids. Vehicle Tank used or intended to be used in any transaction or for protection shall be verified and stamped by the Legal Metrology Officer in the State in which it is put to use.

The department provides calibration service at its offices situated in Kollam, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.

CALIBRATION OF VERTICAL OIL STORAGE TANKS

Vertical Storage Tank used or intended to be used in any transaction or for protection shall be verified and stamped by the Legal Metrology Officer in the State in which it is put to use.

Calibration of storage tanks are carried out at all district offices except in the case of Ernakulam where this service is rendered from the office of the Inspector (Vertical Storage Tank).
